In this episode, I take you to London on another continuous visual journey through over 2,000 years of the city’s history and evolution! For those who wonder how I realized this video... Yes I used several professional AI tools, along with editing and post-production, to turn each scene into a smooth, cinematic video while keeping the same viewpoint from start to finish. The sound and music are carefully made to match each time period and to build a clear sense of story and flow, so the video feels like it moves naturally through time. Don't forget to watch with volume on :) Please note: This is an artistic interpretation of how London may have changed over time. I have done my best to make it as historically accurate as possible, but some mistakes and inaccuracies are inevitable at this scale. Also I have also included fictional scenarios based on my personal taste, especially in the future sections, for pure entertainment purposes. --------------------- How it’s made: I chose the viewpoint of a busy intersection inspired by the view of Palace of Westminster as seen from Westminster Bridge, using it as the setting to imagine how this part of the city may have changed across different eras. Although London was originally founded in the area now known as City of London during the Roman period, I deliberately selected this location to observe the city’s evolution from a more iconic and widely recognized viewpoint. Unlike the Roman core, which was already structured and active early on, the Westminster area remained relatively less developed for centuries. Its transformation into a dense and important urban space happened much later, particularly during the Middle Ages, when political and royal institutions began to concentrate there, gradually shifting the city’s center of activity westward. ✔ Researched the most visually significant moments in London’s history (see “Sources & Research” below) ✔ Designed the storyboard, historical progression, and pacing of the location through time ✔ Generated and refined the street model with AI tools, always from the exact same perspective ✔ Populated each scene with people, animals, and traffic using AI ✔ Animated each frame, then edited, composited, and refined details in post-production ✔ Added sound design and music to match the mood of each era 🕔Timestamps: 00:00 - Roman Empire Era and Middle Ages 02:10 - Late Middle Ages and Renaissance 04:16 - 17th century 06:00 - 18th century 07:29 - 19th century 09:40 - 20th century 13:44 - 21st century --------------------- 📝Sources & Research: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_Bridge#/media/File:Samuel_Scott_-_The_Building_of_Westminster_Bridge_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_Bridge#/media/File:Canaletto_-_Westminster_Bridge,_with_the_Lord_Mayor's_Procession_on_the_Thames_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_Bridge#/media/File:Canaletto_-_The_City_Seen_Through_an_Arch_of_Westminster_Bridge.JPG https://www.reddit.com/r/papertowns/comments/ennqii/westminster_abbey_and_palace_england_in_the_early/#lightbox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astley's_Amphitheatre#/map/0 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_London https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster 🎵 Music credits: - ""The Pyre"" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ - The Summoning' by Scott Buckley - released under CC-BY 4.0. www.scottbuckley.com.au - Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ - 'The Call' by Scott Buckley - released under CC-BY 4.0. www.scottbuckley.com.au - Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ - 'Ignis' by Scott Buckley - released under CC-BY 4.0. www.scottbuckley.com.au - Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ - David Hermlin And His Swing Dance Orchestra
