MythBusters — S2 E3 "Barrel of Bricks" — Aired October 10, 2003 Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman are back with a triple-threat episode where physics, bad luck and questionable plumbing collide. First up is the legendary tale of the world's unluckiest builder, a barrel loaded with 500 pounds of bricks, a roofer's pulley and a 30-foot scaffold that creaks, bends and threatens to take the whole rig down with it, while Buster the crash test dummy volunteers for the kind of abuse no human should sign up for. Then the guys wander into a railyard to chase an urban legend about nature's call at the worst possible place, which means building a ballistics gel dummy complete with a skeleton, a vacuum-formed shell, a whoopee cushion bladder and some seriously leaky duct tape, then crunching the numbers with Ohm's law and a 650-volt transformer while the high-speed cameras roll. Finally, the team dives into the slippery mystery of a wallet made from a very strange fish, with credit cards, microwaves, static electricity, homemade electromagnets and a very grumpy live electric eel standing between Adam and Jamie and the truth. Along the way you get penny-on-the-tracks bonus chaos, a visit from the folklorists and the eel experts, and the glorious sight of Adam and Jamie treating every disaster as legitimate data. Did the myths hold up, or did the evidence slip through their fingers? Press play, grab something to hold onto, and find out. From the Diet Coke & Mentos explosion to surviving an underwater car escape — if it can be tested, they'll test it. #MythBusters #AdamSavage #ScienceExperiments
