Due to the fire in the dump yard (garbage plant) of Brahmapuram area of Kochi city of Kerala (Kerala), poisonous smoke has now become a problem for the people. For the last seven days, efforts are on to control the fire here, while toxic smoke has covered Kochi and surrounding areas and now people are having trouble breathing. The air quality has also deteriorated due to the spread of toxic smoke from the smoldering dump yard. Although initially the fire was brought under control with the help of the Indian Navy and Air Force. Now the administration has advised the local people to stay indoors and use N-95 masks.
