Olivia is currently dealing with some health issues, and the stress of travel, as well as work, has been ruled out by her physicians. We are truly devastated. We just received our SAG interim agreement this week, and had Olivia's contract, with the agreed upon conditions, all prepared. We are 2 weeks from going to camera, so this is unfortunate news. On behalf of the entire cast and crew of IMB2, we send Olivia Hussey our sincere most heartfelt well wishes, along with peace, health, and happiness. We want to thank Olivia’s manager, Tony Marinozzi, and her husband, David Glen Eisley, for their time. And, of course, Olivia, for supporting our project. Over the last 12 months, we have worked tirelessly to bring this dream to fruition, not just for us, but for Black Christmas and horror fans around the world. The original Black Christmas is one of the most important horror films ever made, and we wanted to do something that no studio had ever done, and deliver a true legacy sequel, albeit unofficially. In 2021 we released It's Me, Billy, a professionally produced, high-production-value fan and tribute film. It was the first part of a two-part story. Our goal was always to cast Olivia Hussey in the role of Jess Bradford in Chapter 2, which would have been an iconic moment in horror history. The same actress reprising her role 50 years later in a true celebration of one of horror’s first final girls, was a moment we wanted to deliver to fans around the world. We’re truly sorry this will no longer happen in the way we wanted. In 2023, we reached out to her reps, and were told if we met important criteria, she would come onboard. We did everything we were asked to do, and she agreed. We were thrilled! We took a huge swing, and the next 6 months were dedicated to making that dream a reality. All of YOU helped to make that possible by donating to our crowdfunding campaign. We understand that many of you contributed to our crowdfunding campaign because of Olivia Hussey. We understand and respect if you feel you can no longer support us. It’s our hope, however, that you’ll still want to stand with us and see this project through to the very end. We have a story we believe in, and an incredible cast and crew ready to bring it to life. We want to show fans around the world the ending we’ve worked so hard to create. We have worked far too hard, and for far too long, with too many incredibly talented people to simply pack it all in. We know that by not having Olivia onboard, it has taken some of the excitement and wind out of the sails, but we assure you, we are still 100% committed to delivering a professional product, from top to bottom, and an ending that not only Black Christmas fans can be proud of, but a true completed sequel (albeit unofficially) that you can watch for years to come. We are currently recasting the role of Jess Bradford and will make the announcement asap.
