Today, we’ll be experiencing Supreme Class—the new first class on Japan's Shinkansen Bullet Train. I'll be trying a bit of everything on this journey: from Hakata to Shin-Osaka in the two-person Supreme Class cabin (Car 7), from Shin-Osaka to Nagoya in the single-person Supreme Class cabin (Car 10), and finally from Nagoya to Tokyo in a classic Green Car seat. āš ļø How to Book I made all my Shinkansen reservations via Smart EX (https://smart-ex.jp/en/index.php). Reservations open at 10:00 AM, one month prior to the date of travel. I also registered my transit IC card (Mobile Suica) and credit card details with Smart EX in advance. The fare is charged to the registered credit card at the time of booking. On the day of travel, I passed through the ticket gate using my transit IC card (in my case, Mobile Suica) and used that same card to unlock the door to the Supreme Class cabin. ※ Note regarding the two-person Supreme Class cabin in Car 7: While the person who made the reservation can pass through the ticket gate using their transit IC card, their companion must purchase a separate ticket (a basic fare ticket and a limited express ticket—even a non-reserved seat express ticket is acceptable) in paper format to pass through the gate and enter the private cabin together. šŸš… Shinkansen Information Shinkansen #1 Name: Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen "Nozomi" No. 20 Route: Hakata Station – Shin-Osaka Station Travel Date: October 6, 2026 Departure: Hakata Station 10:15 Arrival: Shin-Osaka Station 12:43 Class: Supreme Class Seat: Car 7, Seat 21A Travel Time: 2 hours 28 minutes Fare: 72,690 JPY (459.6 USD) Shinkansen #2 Name: Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen "Nozomi" No. 10 Route: Shin-Osaka Station – Nagoya Station Travel Date: October 7, 2026 Departure: Shin-Osaka Station 10:30 Arrival: Nagoya Station 11:19 Class: Supreme Class Seat: Car 10, Seat 21D Travel Time: 49 minutes Fare: 20,750 JPY (131.2 USD) Shinkansen #3 Name: Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen "Nozomi" No. 14 Route: Nagoya Station – Tokyo Station Travel Date: October 7, 2026 Departure: Nagoya Station 11:57 Arrival: Tokyo Station 13:33 Class: Green Car Seat: Car 10, Seat 16D Travel Time: 1 hour 36 minutes Fare: 14,760 JPY (93.3 USD) šŸ“‹ Table of Contents 00:00 Intro 00:36 Boarding Shinkansen at Hakata Station 03:42 Supreme Class Car 7 Private Cabin (2 People) 11:34 Welcome & Mobile Order Service (Hakata – Shin-Osaka) 16:43 Amazing Supreme Class-exclusive Wi-Fi 17:54 Car 7 Facilities and Restrooms 20:00 Mobile Ordering Service Issues (Hakata – Shin-Osaka) 22:42 Disembarking at Shin-Osaka Station 23:58 Boarding Shinkansen at Shin-Osaka Station (Next Day) 26:21 Supreme Class Car 10 Private Cabin (1 Person) 28:55 Cars 9–11 Facilities and Restrooms 31:21 Welcome & Mobile Ordering Service (Shin-Osaka – Nagoya) 35:47 Disembarking at Nagoya Station 36:51 Boarding Shinkansen at Nagoya Station 38:01 Green Car Seats 40:17 Green Car Welcome & Mobile Ordering Service 41:37 Facilities Prior to Supreme Class Cabin Renovation 42:19 Enjoying the Scenery & Ekiben (Station Bento) 46:03 Arrival at Tokyo Station #Japan #Shinkansen #BulletTrain #SupremeClass #FirstClass #TokaidoShinkansen #SanyoShinkansen
