You Said You Would written by Arthur Lee Produced by Skip Taylor Here's a link from our channel to a " Live Music Video " of my wife Victoria and myself covering Arthur Lee's song.. You Said You Would at The Thirsty Pagan Brewery in Superior, Wisconsin. Click here to check it out.. https://youtu.be/-TpVjXfoS9U Recorded from Love's 1974 record album release... " Reel to Real " Love personnel - Arthur Lee (R.I.P.) - vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica (March 7th, 1945 - August 3rd, 2006) (Forever In Our Hearts) Melvan Whittington - lead and rhythm guitar John Sterling - slide and rhythm guitar Sherwood Akuna - bass Herman McCormick - congas Joey Blocker - drums We are particularly fond of this song because we (Mark and I) and our band used to play this song. People used to love this song...they would ask "what song is this, did you write it?" Then we'd get these people (other musicians) saying that we should do songs that everyone knows!! BORING!! It's funny that musicians, at least in this area, think that people wanna hear the same old top 40 hits. It's good to put one or two top 40's mixed in with the unknown. That's the ticket. It keeps the audience interested to see what's next! We've been doing "off the wall obscure" stuff for years and we get a GREAT reaction from audiences. Our problem is that we cannot find other players (guitar) who will learn this stuff. I (Tor) think its just fear or laziness. The reason I say this is because when you listen to the bands play top 40 stuff, they are so used to playing it that they get lazy and it sounds lame. This is not JUST my opinion. Mark and I go out to watch a band and they don't seem to hold their audience...the people just talk right through the songs....just saying. Peace and Love.
