Danser-go wasn’t actually rewritten. But I personally consider it to have been rewritten because the original game engine used OpenGL—which dates back to 2000—so I integrated wgpu into Danser. What does that mean? It means you can run Danser without causing your computer to freeze or lag and get twice as many FPS. Also, as Wieku mentioned, running Danser on macOS is impossible because it has poor support. That’s why I integrated wgpu: DX12, Vulkan, OpenGL (wgpu + latest version), and Metal (for macOS only). If you have an older system, you can switch back to OpenGL. For newer systems, using wgpu is recommended (of course, after I release my own version of Danser). Features I’ve added: - 3-2-1 Countdown (I had to add this myself since Wieku forgot to include it for 11 years) - Cursor freedom (You can move the cursor during beatmap breaks) - BPM Branching (The cursor splits based on the number of hit objects at a given BPM—for cursor dance in beatmaps like Centipede) not yet completed - Real-Time Motion Blur - New audio device: miniaudio - New PP Counter: Uses the latest PP algorithm from the current version of osu!, and the Akatsuki PP algorithm system has been added. - Two dance movers have been added: one is ā€œspring,ā€ which dances like a spring; the other is ā€œhuman,ā€ which exhibits human-like behavior. It can miss combos and may miss notes when its aim isn’t precise enough. - Finally, osu!Lazer visuals operate based on the osu!Lazer logic I coded myself; the visuals are nearly identical to those of osu!Lazer. Not finished yet. Features I’ve changed and modified: 1- I optimized rendering from OSR to MP4. Since switching to WGPU, I’ve been able to achieve rendering that’s twice as fast and of higher quality than the original Danser. 2- There was an FPS drop ranging from 30 to 15 FPS with 1,000 TAG or 1,000 MIRROR cursors. To solve this, instead of drawing the 1,000 cursors in separate locations, I grouped them all in a single location, which resolved the FPS drop. The same applies to 1,000 MIRROR cursors: I draw all 1,000 cursors in the same group rather than separately, and I draw the hit objects in the same group rather than in separate groups. 3- While playing the beatmap, the renderer would reject the rendering because thousands or hundreds of objects were being drawn simultaneously. As a solution, hit objects will be drawn in the same group at every BPM; they won’t be drawn separately. If the BPM is above 400, the objects within a 2-second interval will be drawn together, and hit objects from another group will be drawn 2 seconds later. 4- The beatmap loads faster, and calculations are performed more quickly. 5- I made more modifications, but I forgot what I did.
