Todayβs video is a special one for me. Most of you have seen my mom in videos before, but this time I wanted to introduce someone you've heard me talk about for years β my dad. My dad spent over 45 years as a chef, and growing up, I had a front-row seat to watch his skill, discipline, and passion for food. Even today, he still loves cooking for the family whenever he gets the chance. So when I got my hands on a fresh flounder (κ΄μ΄), I knew exactly who to call. What started as me asking, "Dad, can you break down this fish for me?" turned into one of my favorite cooking videos I've ever filmed. Watching him work reminded me how much experience, precision, and patience goes into preparing Korean-style sashimi (ν). In Korea, hwe isn't just raw fish. It's about freshness, technique, presentation, and sharing a meal with the people you love. There's something special about gathering around the table, wrapping a piece of fresh fish with vegetables and sauce, and enjoying it together. Seeing my dad prepare this meal for our family brought back a lot of memories and reminded me where my love for food really started. π I'd love to hear from you: Have you ever tried Korean-style sashimi (ν)? Or is there a family recipe or food tradition that reminds you of home? π Like, comment, and subscribe for more Korean food, family recipes, and behind-the-scenes moments from the Cho family.
