Rightly Dividing between Paul's Acts Epistles and Ministry from his Prison Epistles and Ministry. Acts Epistles: Galatians, 1&2 Thessalonians, 1&2 Corinthians, Romans (6) Prison Epistles: Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1&2 Timothy, Titus & Philemon (7) Acts 20 is the dividing chapter (Acts 20:36 - the last pilcrow) and Acts 28:28 is called the dividing line. Acts 28:28 "Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it." (See also Acts 13:46, 18:6). Paul received progressive revelation. Eph 3:2-3 "If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in a few words)." During Paul's Acts Ministry: Paul baptised (Acts 16:33), circumcised (Acts 16:3), performed special miracles (Acts 19:11), and special healings (Acts 19:12), also spoke in tongues for edification, exhortation, and comfort (1Cor 14:18). This resulted in Israel being moved to jealousy (Rom 11:11). 1Cor 13:8-13 - prophecies shall fail, tongues shall cease, knowledge shall vanish away, in part shall be done away, put away childish things, now a glass darkly, then face to face. This all summed up the Acts ministry, also called the pre-prison epistles. These things were all evidently Kingdom signs. They faded and were phased out after the transition. After Acts, you have faith, hope, and charity; these three abide. After Acts, no more baptism (1Cor 1:17, 1Cor 12:13, Eph 4:5), circumcision (Gal 6:15), prophecies fail, tongues cease, knowledge vanish away, no more special miracles, and no more special healings. Healings? Trophimus (2Tim 4:20), Timothy (1Tim 5:23), Epaphroditus (Phil 2:25-27). The Acts Epistles show the Human side of the Church, the body of Christ, with all its faults and failures. Romans (wickedness of mankind, God gave them up), 1Corinthians exposes carnal lives, and even fornication, Galatians - legalism, man's weakness. The Prison Epistles show the Heavenly side: seated (Ephesians), Christ as the head (Colossians), looking for heaven itself (Philippians). In these epistles, there is nothing of Jewish character, nothing temporary, nothing to cease, no signs, but full revelation, and nothing in part.
