ASOT(A STATE OF TRANCE) I first discovered Armin van Buuren in the late 1990s. It happened at the listening station of Virgin Megastore, where I encountered the music that would change my life forever. Before that, I had listened to countless styles of electronic musicātechno, house, breakbeats, drum & bass, and many others. I enjoyed them all, but deep down I always felt that I hadnāt yet found the sound I had been searching for. Every now and then, I would come across beautiful melodies that deeply moved me. At the time, I didnāt know they belonged to a genre called Trance. Still, I kept returning to Virgin Megastore almost every day, listening to CDs and searching for something I couldnāt quite describe. Then one day, everything changed. It all started with a mix CD by the Japanese DJ, DJ19. As the music played through the headphones at the listening station, I completely lost track of time. I stood there, overwhelmed, immersed in every beat and every melody. I still remember the goosebumps, the euphoria, and the feeling of finally finding what I had been searching for all those years. That music was Trance. From that moment on, everything changed. My musical journey became centered around Trance. It was also during that time that I discovered Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, and TiĆ«sto. Among them, Armin immediately became my favorite. His track āCommunicationā remains one of the greatest Trance records Iāve ever heard and still holds a very special place in my heart. Inspired by that experience, I started DJing, spent countless nights in clubs, and was fortunate enough to see Armin van Buuren perform live in Japan during his vinyl era. Those memories remain some of the most unforgettable moments of my life. Today, the reason I continue uploading Trance DJ mixes to YouTube is simple. The emotions I experienced back then are still alive within me. Through my mixes, I want to share the ever-evolving world of Trance with people across the globe and hopefully give someone else the same goosebumps, excitement, and emotional connection that I felt when I first discovered this incredible music. That is why I keep mixing. This is my way of honoring the inspiration I received from Armin van Buuren and A State of Trance, and of passing that passion on to the next generation of Trance lovers.
