Undertaker (Mark Calaway) is one of the greatest all-time performers in WWE History. He has been part of pro wrestling for 33 years, as well as a lifetime veteran in WWE for over 30 years. 1987: Began wrestling in Texas under the name Texas Red. 1989: Signed with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), wrestling as "Mean" Mark Callous. 1990: After his contract wasn't renewed by WCW, he signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) The "Deadman" Era (1990–2000) November 1990: Debuted at Survivor Series as the Undertaker, a character inspired by the "Western Mortician". 1991: Won his first WWF Championship from Hulk Hogan at Survivor Series. 1994: Was entombed in a casket at the Royal Rumble, leading to a period of "death" and the end of the original gimmick. 1996-1999: The character evolved into the Lord of Darkness and the leader of the Ministry of Darkness. The "American Badass" Era (2000–2003) 2000: Adopted a more modern, less supernatural "American Badass" biker persona. The "Return of the Deadman" & Streak Era (2004–2014) 2004: The Deadman persona was revived, though with some residual "American Badass" elements. 2007: Won the Royal Rumble and the World Heavyweight Championship. 2008–2014: Faced various opponents, defending his undefeated streak at WrestleMania, known as "The Streak". 2014: His legendary 21-0 streak at WrestleMania was broken by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX. Later-Career & Retirement (2015–2020) 2015-2017: The "Resurgence" phase saw him engaged in high-profile feuds. 2017: Suffered a second WrestleMania loss to Roman Reigns. 2020: Announced his retirement at Survivor Series, the same event where he debuted 30 years prior.
