During my childhood from the late 90s through mid 2000s, absolutely everything was EXTREME (or Xtreme/X-treme)!!!!! It was a weird, but fun time, and I thought it would make a fun video topic. But after doing some Google-Fu, it turns out that there's next to no concrete information out there on it. The furthest anything, from forum posts to articles, went was basically "remember when things were Xtreme? lol" without any real analysis. So, since nobody else has done so in 20 years, I guess I'll be that guy. It's time to find out why our childhoods were so so X-TREME! And through a lot of time and research, I think I have satisfying answer that I'll share with you in this video. The topic led me down another pop-culture path that I never considered before. An oddity that I'll refer to as "The X Obsession". This term refers to the ludicrous amount of brands that contain the letter "X" in their title. X-Men, X Box, Twitter being renamed X, and a million other examples. Why exactly are we so culturally fixated on the letter X? I'm really fascinated by this topic. I only scratched the surface in this video, but if it gets enough interest, I'll do a deep dive on it in the future! With all that said, I hope you have an X-ceptionally X-cellent X-perience watching this video. Now with all of that said, time to get those pesky tags out of the way: Extreme, Xtreme, X-treme, 90s Extreme, 90s Xtreme, 90s X-Treme, 2000s Extreme, 2000s xtreme, 2000s x-treme, Mountain Dew, Do the Dew, Pepsi Max, ECW, Rob Van Dam, Sonic, 90s Sonic, Sonic X-Treme, Burger King X-treme, Action Extreme Team, USA Action Extreme Team, Ren and Stimpy, The Ripping Friends, McDonalds X-treme, Animaniacs, The X Files, X Com, Degeneration X, DX, 2Extreme, 3Extreme, The 90s X-treme Trend, The X-Treme Trend, Genesis does what Nintendon't, Extreme Games, X Games, 90s X Games, GI Joe X-Treme, Gi Joe Extreme, Surge, 90s Surge, Surge Soda, Airhead X-treme, Airhead X-tremes, warheads, Rocket Power, Point Break, X-treme Jello, Centurions Power Xtreme, Extreme Band, Vanilla Ice, To the Extreme, Extremely Live, X-treme Whopper, Kiss X-treme Closeup, x-men, x-force, 90s X-men, x-treme x-men, Adam X, Adam X-treme, Rob Liefeld, X-treme Media, John Connor, 90s Counter Culture, Extreme Sports, 90s Extreme Sports, X-treme Marketing, Taco Bell Extreme Nachos, Power Rangers, Goofy Extreme, Star Wars Podracing, Extreme Contact, Razor Scooter, Team X-treme, Extreme Dinosaurs, Extreme Ghostbusters, Rift, An Extremely Goofy Movie, Extreme Justice, Bop It Extreme, Extreme Doritos, X-treme Weekly Planner, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Extreme Makeover, MXP Most Extreme Primate, Wormhole X-Treme, Harold and Kumar, Harold and Kumar Extreme sports punks, extreme sport punks, Extreme Movie, MXC Most Extreme Elimination Challenge
