On June 14, 2026, two helicopters collided mid-air over Rio de Janeiro, killing artist Oliver Tree and the five other people aboard the two aircraft. The accident involved a Bell 206B JetRanger III and a Eurocopter AS350, both operating private flights under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) in favorable weather conditions. The two helicopters were flying at approximately 300 feet while following nearly perpendicular flight paths. In this type of geometry, the well-known "see and avoid" phenomenon can occur, in which the other aircraft appears almost stationary in the windshield, making it difficult to recognize the collision risk and significantly reducing the time available to react. The AS350's main rotor struck the tail section of the Bell 206, almost completely severing it. The loss of the tail rotor caused an immediate and uncontrollable yaw, leading the Bell 206 to crash into a parking lot. At the same time, the AS350 sustained severe damage to its main rotor, lost virtually all lift, and also crashed just seconds later. The investigation remains ongoing, and no official cause has yet been determined. The leading hypothesis points to a loss of separation between the two aircraft during VFR flight, compounded by the limitations of the "see and avoid" principle. Investigators are also examining possible operational factors, compliance with flight procedures, and the administrative status of the Bell 206, including potential irregularities related to its operation. #olivertree #crash #accident #planecrash #music #brasil #3danimation Credits: @AndrewPrisma3D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHMYU7Cc51c @MaydayFlightDisasters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs9IWMwoW0c @FlightDisasters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cazsv5kFeZk Music: Private Investigation by Soundridemusic Link to Video: • No Copyright Crime Investigation Suspense ...
