On that same note, this song and Freeway Shuffle have challenge charts that debuted in the console games, but will be playable in the arcade starting from X. Shout-out to SN2 for not hiding its boss songs away like a certain other mix, cool factor be damned. Why is this game recorded in English instead of Japanese, you may ask? Because, between SN and X, this game is the only one where I can show off the English banners without sacrificing any songs being dropped. I'd never seen over 80% of these before I recorded this video, so it was really cool seeing them. I see this game as an odd crossroads for the series. It introduces some staples moving forward, like Marvelous timing becoming part of the normal gameplay and a much better scoring system. At the same time, it can sort of be seen as the end of an era, since this is the last we'll be hearing from this iconic announcer, and many older Konami/Bemani songs will be axed in the next mix(The mission to strip MAX of its best songs continue...). One really cool thing this mix introduced, though... was events! Well, sort of. Because you needed an e-amusement account to access them, they were essentially locked to JP cabs since American ones didn't support it yet. The two in this game were the "My GROOVE RADAR" and "ZUKIN WARS" events, with the former being used to unlock the Groove Radar songs, and the latter to unlock some of the planet songs. Interestingly, I'd say that SN2 is a great way to play the first one(I mean just use stepmania lol), since, as you may have noticed, this list has ALL of the songs that debuted in SuperNOVA. You could make a case that Beautiful Life isn't there, but to be fair, that song was removed in SN already(and NOBODY should be subjected to the god awfulness that is those charts, anyways). What can I say? I really like mixes that keep 99% of the previous one's songs intact. Anyways, see you guys in 2008!
