If you’ve ever had a kidney stone, you know that it is extremely painful. I had a kidney stone once, and I thought I was dying. I ended up using acupressure, and the stone popped right out. Kidney stones can come from an imbalance of calcium. These are known as calcium oxalate stones. If your pH is too alkaline, you tend to develop more stones because your pH can control calcium. If you get acid reflux, this is actually a problem of your stomach being too alkaline, not too acidic. That’s why many people with kidney stones also have heartburn. Keep in mind that you should avoid taking calcium carbonate—including antacids. Many people get kidney stones from taking this form of calcium. Low vitamin D and K2 can also lead to stones.
