In this video I will showcase a way to workaround it. It is however a temporary fix, and it will cost you a lot of gold! Sockets currently add 0.6 pvp ilvl to your pvp scaling. It is the reason their benefit isnt worth the negative impact (the higher pvp ilvl you have, the worse your performance will be). However sockets seem to only add to the pvp ilvl during a zone shift (or if you unequip them, or enter a loading screen). So if you use the void storage to remove the sockets from your gear. You can then add the sockets before the arena battle begins to avoid increasing your pvp ilvl for that arena! This has to be done for every arena you enter, hence why the gold cost will be really insane (the gems aswell as the void storage cost) The benefit from this will differ aswell. Depends on what you gem. I personally gem for versa and my result were about 7.5% more dmg, healing and reduced damage taken.
