Omega Productions records Cotton Patch Gospel Television Special The iconic Scott Theatre in the Ft. Worth Arts District was the site of the stage premiere of the Off/Broadway play “Cotton Patch Gospel.” The production, starring Tom Key, is based on the book “The Cotton Patch Version of Matthew and John” by Clarence Jordan, with music and lyrics by Harry Chapin and musically directed by Tom Chapin. The premiere was shot and recorded in front of a live audience and produced and directed for the stage by Philip M. Getter and Russell Treyz. The Omega crew was there to record the challenging vocals and acoustic instrumentation of the fast-moving stage presentation, as well as later providing the audio post and mix for the soundtrack. Omega’s President Paul Christensen served as Audio Director. Executive Producers were Philip M. Getter and Michael Meece, with Michael Meece Producing and Directing the project for MCM Group. Medallion Video Productions provided remote television facilities as did Omega Audio & Productions’ mobile unit. Video Post & Transfer provided video post services.
