YOOOOOOO BROOOOO… 😭🇧🇷 I genuinely don't know where to begin with this one. Today I experienced Anitta - EQUILIBRIVM II for the first time, and BRO… I think I just witnessed one of the most incredible pieces of art I have ever reacted to. There were no English subtitles, so I couldn't understand every lyric or every word being spoken in Portuguese — but somehow I FELT EVERYTHING. The music, the visuals, the energy, the emotion, the spirituality… it all hit me on a completely different level. I had goosebumps throughout so much of this project and at one point I was genuinely brought to tears. 😭 And my Brazilian Clouds were telling me I was feeling the Axé — that powerful energy and positive force associated with Brazilian cultural and spiritual traditions — and after experiencing this project, I completely understand why they were saying that. The production was absolutely INSANE. There were moments where the rhythms and percussion had so much energy that I literally couldn't sit still. Then there were other moments where everything became so emotional and spiritual that I just had to sit there and take it all in. And visually… BRO. This project feels like BRAZIL. 🇧🇷 What really hit me was how deeply Anitta embraces Brazilian identity throughout the project. EQUILIBRIVM II explores Brazilian culture, ancestry, spirituality and musical traditions, bringing together different artists and sounds from across Brazil. The project includes collaborations with artists such as Maria Bethânia, Alceu Valença, Mart’nália, Mestrinho, MC Tha, Alexandre Carlo, Grupo Ofá and Brô MC’s. And that's what made this experience so powerful for me. It didn't feel like Anitta was trying to make Brazil fit somebody else's idea of what a global pop project should sound like. It felt like she was saying: THIS IS WHERE I'M FROM. THIS IS MY CULTURE. THIS IS MY SPIRIT. COME EXPERIENCE IT. And I absolutely LOVE that. The fact that so much of the project is in Portuguese made the experience even more interesting for me because I wasn't relying on understanding every lyric — I was reacting to the emotion, melodies, rhythms, performances and visuals. This wasn't just listening to an album. It felt like being invited into another world. I genuinely cannot thank my Brazilian Clouds enough for continuing to introduce me to music and culture from Brazil. ❤️🇧🇷 This one really moved me. Anitta, you absolutely cooked with this.
