Day 2 begins with the following: Having prepared themselves to meet Lord Indra, King of the gods, Vidyadhara and Soudamani fly into the sky. Vidyadhara describes the earth below and Soudamani comments on the beauty of the clouds shrouding the mountains. Vidyadhara compares the experience to seeing and admiring beautiful women. They hear distant shouts proclaiming that Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, has been killed by Sreerama. The voice is that of Jambavan, king of the bears, who fought bravely with Sreerama to rid the world of Ravana. Agnipravesankam is Act VII of the Sanskrit play Ascaryacudamani by Saktibhadra. Act VII is the final act of the play and concerns episodes in the Ramayana which culminate in the death of Ravana and the restoration of Sita to Rama. Act VII normally requires thirteen days to perform.
