He made ₹3.7 lakh in a single trading session. He was standing inside a phone shop, ready to buy an iPhone. He opened the app, looked at the chart, and told himself: "Aaj market kaam ka nahi hai. Jo ghusega, woh marega." Then the premium spiked. He entered anyway. By 2 PM, all the made profit money was gone. This is the story of Bhupendra Patel, a trained teacher from a small village near Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh. He lost a Kurkure factory, then came to the stock market to rebuild, and lost ₹9.2 lakh in option trading. If you have ever broken your own rules in the middle of a trade, this option trading loss story is about you. Bhupendra did his D.Ed to become a government teacher. He quit after seeing how the system actually works. He opened a coaching centre and got 70-80 students. COVID shut it down within weeks. Stuck at home during the lockdown, he watched a YouTube video: "Kurkure banaiye, 2 lakh lagaiye, din ke 10,000 kamaiye." The ₹2 lakh was only the packing machine. Before the first packet was sold, the real bill had crossed ₹18-19 lakh. Then the market taught him FMCG economics. Wholesalers pay 50% on delivery and hold the rest until the next order. The manufacturer's margin was 3-4%. His own verdict, and it is one of the most unusual lines in this series: "Isme ek baar chale gaye toh nikal nahi sakte. Trading se ganda khel hai." How the Trading Started? A big local businessman showed him a trading account. One day's profit: ₹3.7 lakh. That was enough. What followed is the pattern every loss-making option buyer knows: - Overtrading. His first trade of the day was usually his best. Every trade after that made it worse. - Position size bigger than his mind could carry. As capital grew, a normal stop loss became ₹3,000-4,000. He could not press the button. - Small profits, big losses. He booked ₹1,000-2,000 winners and held losers until they doubled. - Too much capital in one trade. If a setup "felt" 80% probable, more money went in. - No framework for drawdown. Every losing streak felt like the strategy had failed. - Crypto and forex on the side, adding more exposure to the same habits. An Ending You Won't Expect Most episodes of Losses & Lessons end with one message: stop trading. This one doesn't. After going through his P&L line by line, Aseem Juneja tells him his approach is not broken. The problem is three things: trade count, position size and stop-loss execution. The prescription is simple and brutal: - Shrink quantity until a loss no longer hurts - Cap the number of trades per day - Write 3-4 rules and follow them for 15 days - If a rule breaks even once, that is your answer to exit - If it doesn't, you have something worth continuing Who Should Watch This? - Option buyers who book small profits and sit on big losses - Traders who have ever re-entered a trade they had already decided against - Anyone who started a business or started trading because of one YouTube video or one screenshot - The eldest son carrying the family's hopes and the family's money - Anyone who knows exactly what they are doing wrong, and keeps doing it Fill out the form to appear in "Losses & Lessons" Podcast - https://shorturl.at/8ChN4 Buy Fraud Free Book - https://www.amazon.in/FRAUD-FREE-Outsmart-Scammers-Money/dp/9370032088?s=bazaar Install Stock Pathshala for LIVE classes and Webinars now: https://www.stockpathshala.com/ Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codeclinic.stockpathshala&hl=en_IN&pli=1 Have you been scammed?
