Samsung's 85-inch R95H stopped me mid-step when it turned on, with deeper reds, livelier greens, and a picture that kept impressing me long after the first look. In this Samsung R95H review, I explain what's different about its RGB backlight and whether that difference is worth paying for. My living room is full of light, and dark scenes often turn into a view of me and the windows behind me. I expected Samsung's glare-free finish to take some life out of the picture. Instead, the R95H made me question why I'd been saving my good viewing for after dark. Gaming on Xbox Series X and PS5 Pro gave me another reason to keep turning this TV on, and I didn't notice a delay between the controller and the screen. I also cover sports motion, the surprisingly capable built-in speakers, and the AI sound controls that let you turn down the crowd without losing the commentary. That last one sounded like a gimmick until I used it. But Samsung isn't the only brand making RGB TVs. The Hisense UR9 I reviewed costs less and uses the same core idea, even if it was less forgiving in my bright room. I break down who should pay the R95H's premium, who should consider the alternatives, and why buying it just for the Samsung name misses the point.
