There are 5 types of verbs (verb 1, verb 2, verb 3, verb 4 and verb 5) Uses of Verb 1 and Verb 5 Verb 1 and Verb 5 (v1 and v5) are mainly used in the simple present tense. Either verb 1 or verb 5 can be used depending on the subject of the sentence Verb 1 is used if the subject is plural or 'I' and 'you' and verb 5 is used if the subject is singular except 'I' and 'you'. Both verb 1 and verb 5 are mainly used in simple present tense. Example of verb 1 and verb 5 in sentences (subject+v1/v5+ object) : He helps me. (उसले मलाई सहयोग गर्छ। ) You help me.(तिमीले मलाई सहयोग गर्छौ। ) She works at the office. (उनि अफिसमा काम गर्छिन्।) They work at the office.(तिनीहरु अफिसमा काम गर्छन्। ) Uses of verb 2 Verb 2 is usually used to talk about the past. It is used in the simple past tense. Verb 2 is used with both singular and plural nouns. Examples of verb 2 in sentence (subject +verb 2 + object): I ate food. (मैले खानेकुरा खाएँ।) She danced at the party. (उनि पार्टीमा नाचीन्।) We invited her. (हामीले उनलाई निमन्त्रणा गर्यौं।) Uses of verb 3 Verb 3 can be used with perfect tense. It can be used with all past perfect, present perfect and future perfect tense. In past perfect 'had' is used before verb 3, in present perfect 'have/has' is used and in future perfect 'will have' is used before verb 3. Example of verb 3 in sentence(subject + had/have,has/will have + verb 3 + object): She had learnt English.(उनले अंग्रेजी सिकेकी थिइन्। ) She has learnt English.(उनले अंग्रेजी सिकेकी छिन्। ) I have learnt English. (मैले अंग्रेजी सिकेको छु। ) She will have learnt English. (उनले अंग्रेजी सिकेकी हुनेछिन्। ) Uses of verb 4 Verb 4 can be used in all continuous tenses. It is used in present continuous, past continuous and future continuous tense. In present continuous 'am', 'is' and 'are' are used before verb 4, in past continuous 'was', 'were' are used and in future continuous 'will be' is used before verb 4. Examples of verb 4 in sentence (subject +am,is,are/was,were/will be +verb 4 + object) I am listening to the radio. (म रेडियो सुन्दै छु।) He is listening to the radio. (उ रेडियो सुन्दै छ।) They are listening to the radio.(तिनीहरु रेडियो सुन्दै छन्।) He was listening to the radio.
