Big thanks to Cisco & Splunk for sponsoring my trip to .Conf 2026 and also for sponsoring this video. This F1 dashboard is running in Splunk. Robert shows me how F1 2025 sends telemetry from a racing simulator to the cloud, where custom visualizations bring the race to life with about a 1.5-second delay in this demo. We follow the data from the game’s built-in UDP telemetry through a collector written in Go. The collector converts the data into JSON and batch uploads it into Splunk, powering dashboards for speed, RPM, steering input, tire and brake temperatures, simulated G-force, race events and track position. Then we look at the post-race analysis. By comparing laps and braking inputs, Robert shows where a driver is improving and where there may be time to gain. You can see how the data becomes something useful: feedback for the next run on the simulator. We also discuss the skills available on GitHub for building custom Splunk visualizations and how the same approach can apply to data beyond racing games. What would you connect to Splunk?
