LOST SOCIETY performing “Dead People Scare Me (But The Living Make Me Sick)” live at Baltic Metal Storm 2026 in Turku, Finland — captured live in 4K. One of Finland’s most explosive modern metal bands, Lost Society brought their uncompromising live energy to Linnanpuisto in Turku on August 1, 2026. “Dead People Scare Me (But The Living Make Me Sick)” marked the beginning of a new chapter for Lost Society when it was originally released as a single on May 20, 2025 through Nuclear Blast Records. The song later became track number eight on the band’s sixth studio album, Hell Is A State Of Mind, released on March 6, 2026. Written by Samy Elbanna together with producer and collaborator Joonas Parkkonen, the track combines crushing modern metal riffs, groove, aggression and a huge live-ready chorus. According to Elbanna, the idea behind the song comes from a simple but dark realization: as children we may fear death, monsters and the supernatural — but growing up reveals that human beings with power can be far more frightening. The song deals with conformity, hypocrisy, authority, religion used as a weapon, and the pressure to fit into a society that often rejects those who choose their own path. For Elbanna, it is ultimately an anthem for outsiders. ⚡ SAMY ELBANNA – FROM LOST SOCIETY TO CHILDREN OF BODOM At the center of Lost Society is vocalist and guitarist Samy Elbanna — one of the most distinctive figures of the new generation of Finnish metal. Lost Society was formed in Jyväskylä in 2010. The band first became known for its furious, old-school thrash metal attack, but over the years Elbanna and the band deliberately pushed beyond those boundaries. Albums such as No Absolution, If The Sky Came Down and now Hell Is A State Of Mind transformed Lost Society into a much broader modern metal force, combining thrash roots with groove metal, metalcore, alternative metal and massive contemporary production. Elbanna’s role has grown far beyond that of a conventional frontman. He is simultaneously the voice, guitarist, songwriter and one of the driving creative forces behind Lost Society. And in 2026, his career entered an extraordinary new chapter. Following the death of legendary Children of Bodom frontman and guitarist Alexi Laiho in 2020, Children of Bodom returned to the stage for the special “A Celebration Of Music” concerts at Helsinki’s legendary Tavastia club in February 2026. Standing at the front of the band with a guitar in his hands and behind the microphone was Samy Elbanna. It is difficult to imagine a more demanding position in Finnish metal. Alexi Laiho was not only the voice of Children of Bodom but one of the most influential metal guitarists of his generation — famous for combining extreme vocals with technically demanding lead guitar playing at the same time. Elbanna stepped into that role not as an imitation of Laiho, but as a musician paying tribute to a friend, an inspiration and an enormous musical legacy. Children of Bodom’s returning live lineup features Janne Wirman, Henkka Blacksmith, Jaska Raatikainen and Alexander Kuoppala together with Samy Elbanna on guitar and vocals. And the story continues. Children of Bodom are confirmed to return to major Finnish festival stages in summer 2027, with Elbanna again performing as guitarist-vocalist. The band will appear at Provinssi in Seinäjoki and as one of the headliners of Tuska 2027 in Helsinki. That makes this Lost Society performance especially fascinating to watch. Here is Samy Elbanna in his own element — fronting the band he helped build from the ground up, attacking the guitar and commanding the stage — while simultaneously entering one of the most demanding and emotionally significant roles in the history of Finnish metal. 🔥 LOST SOCIETY Samy Elbanna – vocals / guitar Arttu Lesonen – guitar Mirko Lehtinen – bass Taz Fagerström – drums 🎵 Dead People Scare Me (But The Living Make Me Sick) 💿 Hell Is A State Of Mind 📅 August 1, 2026 📍 Baltic Metal Storm – Linnanpuisto, Turku, Finland 🎥 Fan-recorded live performance 📺 4K If you enjoy Finnish metal, Lost Society, Children of Bodom and high-energy live performances, leave a like, comment and subscribe for more live rock and metal videos from Finland.
