All three got the same prompts and settings across five real-world tests: character consistency, a luxury perfume ad, a 1950s Las Vegas billboard with exact text, product accuracy and a multi-reference character swap. Which one comes out on top? 👉 Try Nano Banana 2.1 on Artlist: https://artlist.io/?artlist_aid=kingyai_3891&utm_source=affiliate_p&utm_medium=kingyai_3891&utm_campaign=kingyai_3891 This video is sponsored by Artlist. WHAT I TESTED • Character consistency: a photorealistic portrait of my character on a cherry blossom street, made from one character reference and one location reference (3:4, 2K) • Creative freedom: a deliberately vague prompt for a luxury perfume brand inspired by childhood nostalgia (16:9, 2K) • Text rendering: a vintage 1950s roadside casino billboard with the exact copy "Lucky Nights Await!", "Slots, Shows & Cocktails" and "Just Ahead in Fabulous Las Vegas" • Product accuracy: putting a reference bag of potato chips on a stool in a plain studio • Multi-reference editing: swapping the main subject of a street photo for my character, who wears specific red sunglasses and holds a pumpkin in her right arm THE QUICK VERDICT • Nano Banana 2.1 was the most realistic: lifelike faces, believable environments and the closest match to my character reference • GPT Image 2.5 won the vintage billboard on art style, made the chip bag the most vibrant and nailed the poses • Nano Banana 2 was a clear step down from 2.1: softer quality, and the pumpkin ended up in the wrong arm • All three models spelled the billboard and packaging text correctly Good to know: Nano Banana 2.1 supports up to 14 reference images per generation (up to 10 object references and up to 4 character references).
