This man was screaming at me more than my father after I told him I thought I had a crush on Jesse McCartney and somehow I couldn’t click away. Billy had such a way with words that no one has been able to replicate. In 30 seconds Billy Mays could convince me to buy a pocket full of dirt and I’d buy two. While the Shamwow guy couldn’t convince me to buy the winning mega millions lottery ticket, cause he looks like Hilary duff in the Lizzie McGuire movie. It takes art, class, and prestige to sell life-changing products to stay at home middle-age moms. Do you think just anyone can sell a grater plater??? Billy had a way of making you feel like like you were missing out on the latest products while doing hardly any work, meanwhile Phil swift is sawing a boat in half trying to convince me to buy flex seal, I think somebody is trying too hard. Billy mays had single dads everywhere rushing to get the big city slider station and the awesome auger in hopes that Jenny would come back, but she never did, did she. As I’m sure you can tell Billy Mays is my pinnacle of a good salesman. But there are so many others who fail to even get me excited to turn on the television. I never really liked Vince the shamwow guy growing up, idk what it was there just seemed to be something shifty about him. He felt like a guy I couldn’t trust, which is probably not a good trait when you’re trying to sell something. I only remember seeing the shamow commercial and the slap chop commercial growing up but vince was also in a few other commercials. Yeah, not very family friendly, there’s probably a reason why I never saw most of these commercials growing up. Idk why the writing team was so adamant about putting sexual references in these commercials. They don’t really add anything to the product as a whole and it just kind of serves my point that he seems shifty and off. To be fair, some of the schticky clips were from the “uncensored, gag” version, which I gotta say, is pretty enjoyable. After watching the schticky uncensored commercial I really appreciate the effort that vince makes to not take himself or the product seriously. He finally seems to act like a normal person. While I was not too fond of him growing up, I can appreciate him for this at least. Still not as good as Billy Mays though. Swifties, I got something to say. (I sawed this boat in half). Phil swift is the Kmart Billy mays, and I’ll say it till the day I die (that’s a lot of damage). Not only is Phil swift an off brand Billy mays he’s also unhinged. Phil swift has probably the biggest antics (sawing boat in half, cannon in boat, submarine, dune buggy, speed boat with mesh) yet I’ve never wanted to buy a flex product less in my entire life. I take that back, I actually bought flex seal, flex tape, and flex seal liquid as a gag gift for Christmas one year, and guess what that person said about it? It wasn’t that good. Anyone who has to try this hard to sell me something is obviously compensating in some kind of way. Why does this product need THIS MUCH CONVINCING? Oh you can make a submarine with a truck? I can saw a boat in half and still use it? I literally just need to grout around my toilet. Based on how they show these products there’s no way I’d be able to use them to their fullest capability so why wouldn’t I just get a something cheaper that still works? We had some work done on our house so we had some contractors come in and guess what products they didn’t use?? Flex seal, maybe cause regular old grout, tape, and spray paint is good enough. Billy mays is the one true infomercial salesman and everyone is just trying to grab a piece of the legacy he left behind, to no avail.
