The Mai Tai Swizzle is a tiki cocktail made with pineapple juice and about 40 other ingredients, just the way Donn liked his Rhum Rhapsodies. Donn claimed this was made in the 1930's. I don't know how early he came up with this recipe, but this particular build was dated from 1987. There were several others in Donn's papers, but they were undated. However, the key is the pineapple juice. It made the drink well-rounded and much more balanced in comparison with the recipe that was printed in the newspaper while Donn was still alive. But adjust the drink to the way you like it best. If you can't get your paws on white grapefruit, try fiddling with the ratio of grapefruit in the drink until it strikes that balance with you. Don't get hung up with what was written on a note card. You can't get the Myer's rum from the 1930's that the recipe calls for, and if you can, you wouldn't wanna mix a rare, vintage spirit like that with all the rest of these juices anyway.
