◼︎ 936년 10월 1일 후백제가 멸망하고 후삼국이 통일되었다. 신라의 군인이었던 견훤은 서남해 호족들의 지지를 등에 업고 전주에 후백제를 세웠다. 거대한 왕궁과 독자 연호를 사용하며 백제 부활을 내세웠고, 927년 공산전투에서는 왕건의 군대를 궤멸시켜 후삼국 최강자로 떠올랐다. 그러나 해상교역의 핵심인 나주를 왕건에게 빼앗기고, 안동 고창전투에서 패하면서 호족들이 잇따라 고려로 돌아섰다. 내부에서는 왕위 계승을 둘러싼 갈등 끝에 신검이 반란을 일으켜 견훤을 유폐했다. 결국 견훤은 왕건에게 귀부해 자신이 세운 후백제의 멸망을 지켜본 뒤 생을 마쳤다. #한국사 #역사 #역사스페셜 #역사저널 #시간여행자 Copyright ⓒ KBS.
