The Most Complete Course On Bitcoin Mining In 2026 [2+ hours]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2azyKKS8jI Something strange is happening in Bitcoin mining. Companies that spent years telling investors they mine Bitcoin are suddenly telling investors they are AI infrastructure companies. Hut 8 announced a $9.8 billion AI data center lease in July and the stock jumped. IREN announced $2.8 billion in new AI cloud contracts and the stock jumped. Other former mining stocks moved higher with them. So why is this happening? The simple answer is that miners have something the AI industry desperately needs. Electricity. Real megawatts, with grid connections, transformers, land, permits and power agreements already in place. That takes years to build and AI companies do not have years. But there is a second answer that nobody talks about enough. Wall Street currently values an AI story very differently from a Bitcoin mining story. And when Bitcoin is in a bear market, that creates a very strong incentive to reinvent what your company calls itself. In this video I break down what an AI data center actually costs, why a single Nvidia rack can represent millions of dollars, and why securing 500 megawatts does not automatically mean you have an AI business. I explain the difference between a Bitcoin mine and an AI data center, the debt that several miners have taken on to fund this pivot, and why GPU depreciation looks a lot like the machine cycle I already live with in mining. Then I give you the exact questions I would ask before believing any of these announcements. Is there a signed contract? Is there a real customer? Who is buying the GPUs? Who takes the technology risk? Because building an AI business and building an AI presentation are two very different things. This is not financial advice and I am not telling you what any of these stocks will do. This is how I look at it as someone who runs mining infrastructure for a living. Do you think this AI pivot is real, or do you think most of these companies are just repackaging the same power contracts? Let me know in the comments.
