Even his wives shared intimate and personal occasions about their period and what the prophet ﷺ did and how he dealt with it : ‘A’isha reported: When anyone amongst us (amongst the wives of the Holy Prophet) menstruated, the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) asked her to tie a waist-wrapper over her (body) and then embraced her. _______ Al-Aswad narrated it from ‘A’isha that she observed : I used to wash the head of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), while I was in a state of menstruation. ________ ‘A’isha reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said to me: Get me the mat from the mosque. I said: I am menstruating. Upon this he remarked: Your menstruation is not in your hand. _______ ‘A’isha reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) would recline in my lap when I was menstruating, and recite the Qur’an. ________ Narrated Maimuna (wife of the Prophet ﷺ) : When ever Allah’s Apostle wanted to fondle any of his wives during the periods (menses), he used to ask her to wear an Izar. _______ Narrated Um Salama (wife of the prophet ﷺ : While I was lying with the Prophet ﷺ under a woolen sheet, I got my menses. I slipped away and put on the clothes for menses. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Have you got your menses?” I replied, “Yes.” He called me and I slept with him under the woolen sheet. _______ Mu’adhah reported: I asked Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, saying, “Why do menstruating women make up missed fasts but not missed prayers?” Aisha said, “We endured those menses and we were ordered to make up missed fasts, but we were not ordered to make up missed prayers.”
