This is what the first hour after a nuclear impact looks like, minute by minute. 11:44 AM Pacific. Over downtown Seattle the sky turns white, and from Kerry Park the light comes long before the sound. In a Bellevue emergency room ten kilometres away, a nurse shouts everyone into the hallway seconds before the windows burst. Under the Montana prairie, the missiles leave their silos, and half an hour later the enemy warheads hit fields that are already empty. The blast wave crosses Elliott Bay and rolls a ferry full of passengers. A firefighter in West Seattle runs toward the houses that are starting to burn. In New York, survivors covered in grey dust walk out of Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge. At Cheyenne Mountain, on Air Force One, in the Pentagon and in a submarine deep under the Pacific, the people in charge learn what the first strike really cost. Every phone in Washington State shows the same alert: get inside, stay inside, and stay tuned. A nurse triages glass injuries in a parking lot, a pilot climbs down from his F-22 in the Alaska rain, and on the hill above the city the cloud keeps rising. No narrator, no explanation. Only the people who were there, from the flash to the end of the first hour. The attacker is never named and every person in this film is fictional. The physics follow public data for a single high airburst over a city: the silent gap before the blast, broken glass as the main injury, fires growing over the first twenty minutes. Everything else is fiction, an AI disaster film about the hour nobody wants to live through.
