Note: Reddit is a terrible website, and it has been especially bad in the past 2 years. Granted that’s not really due to the staff, the new update is somewhat poor and I disagree with their banning of subreddits (unless they break the law), but the users are what really ruin it. They are obnoxious, whiny, and have caused all sorts of problems that I have discussed in this video. From the effect of fan bases and people flooding into the site, the meaningless popularity contest held for karma whores, and the tragically mediocre videos that YouTubers make about subreddits, this video discusses all of my gripes with the site in depth, and hopefully you’ll have fun listening to me shit where you eat along the way. I find the user base extremely obnoxious and preachy, I find the way that people use it as a popularity contest rather pathetic, and I find the content that is based off of it extremely lacking and boring, with much to be desired from creators that I feel could do a lot more with the skills that they possess. It’s really too bad that reddit has become a manifestation of everything that I hate about internet culture today, considering how it used to be everything that I liked, but I suppose in the end it was bound to happen sometime. Nothing good lasts forever, and in the fast lane of the online world where things are changing at a constant rate, that is even more relevant than ever. It is possible that reddit and it’s users will attempt to iron out these issues, but I really doubt that will happen. Reddit it the most popular image board and forum website in the world, with it having thwarted its rivals over a decade ago, and with such a monopoly on the industry, at this point they can basically do what they want. Just like rick and morty, I have found myself using reddit less and less in recent months, and I am pretty close to just quitting the website altogether and deleting my account. Channel Update/Note: Wow… been awhile since I last posted a video. But alas, it is finally here. Took me a long time to edit this one, not 2 months of course. The reason why I was gone is because I was just busy with school and other things, balancing YouTube with the amount of time my videos take, combined with the classes I have enrolled in isn’t really possible, but I’m working on learning to keep a balance between the two. Expect one video a week for the entire summer, perhaps 5 videos a month (an extra one if I get the time), and 3 videos every month when school is in session. Regardless, thanks so much for sticking with me for those who have, expect a new video next weekend, same time, and bye for now.
