ONESIMUS ‘SON OF GRACE’: A PAN-AFRICAN AFROBEATS JOURNEY THROUGH LOVE, ROMANCE, AND LOSS Multi-award-winning artist Onesimus has announced the Son of Grace Album , Available on all digital platforms worldwide . While the album is named after his late mother, Grace Kalua, it is a high-energy Afrobeats project that serves as a broad celebration of African identity, modern romance, and the complexities of human relationships. Following a dominant 2024 on the awards circuit, Onesimus returns with a body of work that prioritizes intimacy and connection. Son of Grace is a multidimensional record where love and romance take center stage. The tracklist features sleek, anthems such as “Melanin” (featuring Danya Devs & JZyNO) “Phone Sex,” “Sheba,” (Featuring Wave Rhyder) and alongside “Amalobolo” (featuring Kwanda), which frames cultural tradition through a lens of modern devotion. The project is a deliberate Pan-African collaboration, uniting the continent’s most vital sounds. Traveling sonically through Afrobeats, Afropop, Amapiano, and 3-step, Onesimus enlists an elite roster of guest features, including Nutty O (Zimbabwe), Saint Realest (Malawi), Chile One Mr Zambia, Wave Rhyder, Liema Phantsi, and Danya Devs. Geographically diverse, the album features lyrics in Chichewa, Chinyanja, isiZulu, isiXhosa, Nigerian Pidgin and Sesotho, moving effortlessly from Malawi and South Africa to Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Liberia. While the album is defined by its vibrant energy and romantic themes, it also makes space for vulnerability. In a moment of reflection, the track “Why So Soon” pays tribute to the memory of his friends Malome Vector, Lizwi Wokuqala, and Da Mos, who passed away in 2024. This personal element, along with subtle nods to his faith, provides a grounded balance to an otherwise celebratory and rhythmic project. “This album is about showing the full picture of modern Africa,” says Onesimus. “It’s music about love, intimacy, and relationships, but it’s also about where I come from. By bringing in artists from across the region and singing in our different languages, we are celebrating a borderless culture.”
