Welcome to my stroke recovery journey as I relearn to play guitar like the days of old. Spring is getting here in Alabama, and it feels like everything is becoming new. Just like in the Wayne World movies, I will relearn to play guitar again. Healing is like believing in yourself; don’t keep it safe by just doing a little. Instead, push yourself to new directions, branch out, and break the mold of just getting by. Please do not talk yourself out of it; please do not settle for minimum work. In Matthew 9:28-29, Jesus asked two blind men if they believed He was able to heal them; upon their confirmation, He touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith be it done to you". The Bible portrays God as a healer whose nature is to restore physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness to His creation. Faith is often presented as a crucial component of this healing, described by Jesus as the factor that "made you well" or being done "according to your faith". While the Bible contains many promises and accounts of immediate physical recovery, it also presents healing as an ongoing process of reconciliation with God that will only be fully realized in eternity. This week, I used a mysterious sounding backing track with the following chords of A minor, G6, F Maj7, E to E7. I also used the A minor harmonic scale, what great scale notes to use against this backing track. I am still trying to use my pick and fingers together, trying to create some interesting harmonies. Keep strumming for life and never quit. Music has a profound impact on healing, both physically and emotionally. It can help reduce stress, improve mood, and provide a sense of comfort and solace during difficult times. As I continue my journey of stroke recovery, playing the guitar has been therapeutic for me. The act of strumming the strings, creating melodies, and expressing myself through music has been a source of healing and strength. Final thoughts, as I navigate through my guitar stroke recovery journey, I am reminded of the importance of faith, perseverance, and pushing boundaries. Just like the blind men in the Bible who believed in the power of healing, I too believe in the possibility of regaining my guitar-playing abilities. With determination and a positive mindset, I am confident that I will continue to make progress and eventually reach my goal. So, let's keep strumming for life and never quit. Stay tuned for more updates on my guitar stroke recovery journey!
