Day 2 of the NBA season gave us 11 games, two players dropping 45 points, and a whole bunch of new-look teams making their debut. Starting in Miami, Giannis dropped 35 in his Heat debut, but Anthony Edwards stole the show with 45 points and NINE threes. The Traveling Star LaMelo also added 21 in his Timberwolves debut as Minnesota won 131-106. Meanwhile, Ty Jerome ALSO dropped 45, breaking Ja Morant's franchise season-opener record as Memphis beat Utah 123-103. The Lakers embarrassed the Warriors 127-105. Luka had 28 and hit a crazy half-court buzzer-beater, while Walker Kessler scored 26 on perfect shooting with TEN dunks, the most by a Laker since Shaq. Houston destroyed Dallas 128-110, with Kevin Durant and Jabari Smith Jr. scoring 30 each, although Cooper Flagg still managed to score 32 points, in reference to his Jersey Number. Portland absolutely demolished Phoenix 124-83. Damian Lillard returned with 25 points, Ja Morant had eight assists in his debut, and the Blazers led 43-12 after ONE quarter. This duo can shoot and reload. Kawhi Leonard returned to Toronto with 23 points as the Raptors crushed Chicago 135-92. The Raptors look so in Sync and are a sleeper in the East. Anthony Davis dropped 34 as Washington beat Milwaukee 128-116, despite Tyler Herro scoring 24 in his Bucks debut. AJ Dybantsa actually missed the opener due to an Ankle Injury. Tyrese Haliburton returned from his Achilles injury with 23 points and 12 assists, helping Indiana beat New Orleans 123-120. Zion hit a crazy half time buzzer beater and dropped 22 points, but that wasn't enough. Atlanta beat Orlando 132-125 behind Nickeil Alexander-Walker's 31, despite Paolo Banchero dropping 35. Charlotte beat Brooklyn 110-103, with Naz Reid getting 20 and 11 in his Hornets debut, while Julius Randle scored 33 for the Nets.
