Some affairs end in heartbreak, divorce, and broken relationships. Others become part of murder investigations when secret lovers, spouses, and financial motives collide. This true crime documentary examines 10 disturbing cases where extramarital affairs became connected to the murder of a husband or wife. From insurance-driven schemes and poisonings to hired killers and carefully staged deaths, these cases reveal how forbidden relationships sometimes became intertwined with deadly plans. The cases include dentist Larry Rudolph, who was convicted of murdering his wife Bianca during a hunting trip in Zambia while planning a future with his longtime girlfriend Lori Milliron; Sharee Miller, who manipulated her online lover Jerry Cassaday into killing her husband Bruce; and Pamela Smart, who recruited her teenage lover William Flynn and his friends to murder her husband Gregory. The list also includes toxicologist Kristin Rossum, convicted of poisoning her husband Greg with fentanyl while involved with her married boss; Nancy Kissel, who murdered her husband Robert in Hong Kong while having an affair and stood to inherit millions; and Michele Williams, who was convicted of killing her husband Greg after taking out a substantial life insurance policy and beginning a relationship with personal trainer Gene Wallis. The cases continue with Hemy Neuman, who was convicted of killing Rusty Sneiderman, the husband of his GE subordinate Andrea Sneiderman, after prosecutors argued their relationship and a life insurance policy were central to the motive. Ann Miller Kontz was convicted after poisoning her husband Eric with thallium while having an affair with coworker Derril Willard. Colin Bouwer, a psychiatrist in New Zealand, poisoned his wife Annette over months while pursuing a relationship with colleague Anne Walsh and seeking her insurance payout. And Rabbi Fred Neulander paid two men to murder his wife Carol while continuing his affair with radio personality Elaine Soncini. Across these cases, investigators uncovered affairs, secret communications, insurance policies, inheritances, financial records, staged crime scenes, poisonings, and hired killers. In some cases, the affair appeared to be the driving force behind the crime; in others, money and property added another layer to the motive. Several defendants received life sentences, while others faced decades behind bars for crimes that began with relationships they wanted to keep hidden. What makes these cases especially disturbing is the transformation of private betrayal into calculated violence. Relationships that were supposed to remain secret eventually became evidence, revealing motives that investigators used to piece together some of these murder cases. Which case shocked you the most?
