The Nurburgring is unofficially known as "The Green Hell" because it's one of the most dangerous and unforgiving race tracks in the world... the perfect recipe then to take all 4 of my winged 'supercars' out for a lap! After just picking up the brand new 911 GT3, the Ring Wing Ting tour from London brought us here to the Nurburgring to do exactly this; and joined by friends driving the 675LT, AMG GT R and Vantage GT8 - off we go. I'm a firm believer in buying cars to actually go out and drive then, and the only thing better than enjoying them alone is to take friends along for the experience. With the four cars all sitting in a similar area of the market; road legal super/sports cars with a track focus having been developed from their base models, it's a perfect line-up for this kind of activity. With Joe Achilles at the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT8, followed by myself in the Porsche 911 GT3, then Marc (Shmarc150) in the Mercedes-AMG GT R, and finally with BenzeneBen piloting the McLaren 675LT Spider, we embark for a lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Upon return, I decided to take the AMG GT R for some laps as well, having not previously driven it around myself and of course it being a car developed right here for the purpose. To do so I am joined by Misha from Apex to give some instruction and help me learn a bit more about the track. I don't think anybody can still say these cars aren't driven properly that's for sure!
