In this video I look at the actual composition of a popular yellow “almond” hair oil whose formulation lists LLP — Light Liquid Paraffin, a highly refined mineral oil — at around 71%. And this isn’t unique to one hair-oil formulation. Current Parachute Advansed Jasmine listings show roughly 79–79.7% mineral oil and 20% coconut oil. Different Dabur Amla packs/formulations also list substantial proportions of mineral oil. That does NOT mean mineral oil automatically causes hair loss or is poisonous. The real consumer question is simpler: Does the front of a product create the same impression as its actual composition on the back? This video also looks at viral claims involving spoiled bananas, oats, synthetic milk and imported protein ingredients. Some important corrections: Seeing bacteria under a microscope does not automatically identify E. coli or Salmonella. An increase in milk production does not prove that the additional milk was made using urea and detergent. And I could not find credible evidence supporting the claim that most protein used in Indian packaged foods is low-grade animal-feed protein rejected by the US or Europe.
