“So what am I supposed to do now?” 😭😬 It all started on an ordinary Monday morning when Kuba woke up late, rushed out of bed, and realized that absolutely everything was going wrong. His alarm hadn't gone off, his phone battery was at two percent, and his favorite hoodie had mysteriously disappeared. He ran into the kitchen, grabbed a piece of bread, and shouted, “Mom, I'm late! Where's my backpack?” His mom calmly pointed toward the living room. “Right where you left it yesterday.” Kuba ran over, picked it up, and immediately heard something strange rattling inside. He opened the bag and discovered three empty snack wrappers, a toy dinosaur, two mismatched socks, and a permission slip he was supposed to return last week. He stared at the paper. “Oh no. I'm finished.” His little brother Olek wandered into the room, eating cereal. “What's wrong?” Kuba held up the permission slip. “Mom was supposed to sign this, and I forgot to give it to her!” Olek shrugged. “Just tell the teacher you forgot.” Kuba stared at him as if he'd suggested something impossible. “You don't understand. My teacher has a memory like a computer. She remembers everything. Last month, she remembered that I borrowed a pencil and didn't return it for two days!” Olek took another spoonful of cereal. “Then bring two pencils.” Kuba had no time to argue. He stuffed the paper into his pocket and sprinted toward the door. Just as he reached it, Mom called, “Kuba! Your lunch!” He turned around, grabbed the lunchbox, and ran outside. Halfway to school, he checked his pocket and felt his heart sink. The permission slip was gone. He checked the other pocket. Nothing. His backpack. Nothing. Then he remembered: he had left the paper on the kitchen table. “No, no, no! What am I supposed to do now?” he groaned. He considered turning back, but he was already late. He decided to act normal and hope nobody noticed. Unfortunately, his teacher noticed everything. The moment Kuba entered the classroom, she smiled and said, “Good morning, Kuba. Did you bring the permission slip?” The whole class turned toward him. Kuba froze in the doorway. “Well… you see… there was a small situation at home.” His teacher tilted her head. “What kind of situation?” Kuba's brain went completely blank. “A dinosaur.” Everyone stared at him. His teacher blinked. “A dinosaur?” Kuba nodded slowly, realizing that he had made things much worse. “A toy dinosaur. It was in my backpack. It distracted me.” From the back of the classroom, his best friend Bartek covered his face with his notebook to hide his laughter. The teacher took a deep breath. “Kuba, please sit down. Bring the permission slip tomorrow.” Kuba nodded so quickly that his head nearly fell off. “Absolutely! Tomorrow! Definitely!” He hurried to his seat, convinced the worst was over. Then the teacher announced a surprise math quiz. Kuba opened his notebook and discovered that he had studied the wrong chapter. He looked at the questions, then at his notebook, then back at the questions. “What am I supposed to do now?” he whispered. Bartek leaned over. “Try answering them.” “Genius,” Kuba muttered. “Why didn't I think of that?” He did his best, handed in the quiz, and hoped for mercy. During lunch, he opened his lunchbox and discovered that Mom had packed a huge sandwich, an apple, and a note that read, “Have a good day! Remember your permission slip!” Kuba stared at the note in disbelief. “Even my lunch is reminding me!” Bartek laughed so hard that he nearly dropped his juice. Just when Kuba thought the day couldn't get worse, the school announced that everyone had to give a short presentation the next morning. Kuba's presentation was due tomorrow, and he had completely forgotten about it. He rushed to the library after school, borrowed a book, and hurried home to prepare. But when he opened his laptop, it refused to turn on. He checked the charger.
