Recent photos out of Italy show what looks to be the next Ferrari 296 hybrid supercar testing its next iteration. Ferrari recently released the 296 Speciale, the fastest most capable version of the 296 GTB. It's also no secret Ferrari is working on a 296 Challenge Stradale which is being shown very soon. Now we have photos of what looks to be the Ferrari 296M, M standing for "Modificata". Ferrari often uses this moniker for their face-lifted supercars like the recent Portifino M. The next 296 will have to be impressive if it hopes to go head-to-head with the upcoming Mclaren Artura 820hp successor car, as well as the already proven 903hp Lamborghini Temerario. The 296 CS or challenge stradale will be the epic conclusion to the epic run the ferrari 296 GTB and GTS have gone on. The Challenge Stradale will ditch the hybrid system, opting instead for a purely combustion power 700hp V6 engine. Aero right off the ferrari 296 challenge car will make this the most handling capable 296 ever built for the roads. The 296CS will be incredible and a collector's item no doubt. That also means ferrari will probably only sell the 296 Challenge stradale to their most special VIP's. The release of the 296 CS also means the next generation Ferrari V6 Hybrid supercar is not far away. That has now been confirmed with photos of the 296 Facelift testing in Italy. We are speculating this car will be very similar to the 296 Speciale in terms of powertrain and some aesthetic ques as well. Perhaps some bits from the 296 Challenge Stradale will make its way onto the new generation of 296 as well. We can expect price to increase about 5%-10% over the current Ferrari 296. Ferrari recently revealed the 849 Testarossa which was a much heavier facelift of an SF90 then we should expect on the 296 platform. When Ferrari does a Modificata of one of their cars it is almost always perfection. Most recently we saw Ferrari grace the M badge on the Portofino M, which really dialed in the already pretty good V8 Ferrari convertible. Release date is not confirmed but we do know the new ferrari 296 Challenge Stradale is coming this November. Ferrari will not want to rain on their own parade by presenting the new 296 too soon, but thanks to our experience we can assume this new Ferrari will be revealed between spring and summer of next year.
