After some testing, I was finally able to send 1 yuan to a friend on Alipay – success! 🙌 However, WeChat Pay didn’t go as smoothly... my foreign cards were grayed out when I tried to transfer money. I'm still not sure if that applies to all payments or just transfers, but for now, I’ll mostly rely on Alipay and also bring some cash just in case.
