In this second Lamb Diary video, we continue following Lamby — also known as Butterscotch — as she grows from a tiny bottle-fed lamb into a much stronger little sheep. This video is from Lyndsey’s perspective as she takes over much of the bottle-feeding routine through weeks 2 to 5. When Lamby first needed help, she was only about 3.5 pounds. By week 5, she was nearly 10 pounds and drinking much more at each feeding. The early days of 50 mL bottles and late-night feeds are now behind us. Lamby is up to larger bottles, around 250 mL, three times a day, and getting closer to the point where she can be more fully integrated back with the flock. Bottle feeding a lamb is a lot of work, but it also creates a pretty special bond. This video captures that next stage in Lamby’s story — the routine, the growth, and the small progress that makes all the effort worthwhile. Whether you’re a first-time sheep farmer, preparing to bottle feed a lamb yourself, or just curious about life on a hobby farm, this video gives you an honest look at what it takes to raise a bottle-fed lamb in those critical early weeks. What we cover in this bottle feeding lambs tutorial: ✅ How to start a lamb feeding schedule for orphans or triplets. ✅ Transitioning your bottle baby from indoor care to the outdoors. ✅ The importance of socialization for raising a lamb in a flock. ✅ Why a bottle-fed lamb needs more cuddles than cats or dogs. ✅ Staying safe from predators while raising a lamb on the farm. Raising a bottle-fed lamb is a big commitment, but with the right feeding schedule, patience, and plenty of love, it can also be one of the most rewarding parts of homesteading. If you’re new to sheep farming, caring for a newborn lamb, or setting up a consistent lamb feeding routine, this video walks through the real-life experience of bottle feeding a lamb from birth to week 3 on our hobby farm. Whether you’re a beginner hobby farmer or simply curious about lamb care, this video is for you.
