Don't wait until the dashboard oil light comes on – take care of engine lubrication in advance. In this video we'll show you how to do it properly. 0:00 — How to check your car’s engine oil level 0:05 — 1. Park your car on an even surface. 0:10 — 2. Turn off the engine and wait 10–15 minutes. This is the time required for the oil to settle into the oil pan. 0:22 — 3. Take a clean, light-coloured cloth. 0:28 — 4. Pull out the oil dipstick and wipe it dry. 0:42 — 5. Push the clean dipstick all the way in then and pull it out again. 0:55 — 6. Carefully inspect the dipstick. The oil mark will come up to a certain point on it, indicating the level of oil in your engine.
