A major development has emerged from the Supreme Court amid the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests in New Delhi. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan has tendered an unconditional apology before the Supreme Court in connection with contempt proceedings over restrictions imposed during the October 10 protests. In his affidavit, Govind Mohan stated that mobile internet services were suspended within a 4-kilometre radius of Raisina Hill from 10 PM on October 9 to 10 PM on October 10, 2026, citing public order and security concerns. He maintained that there was no deliberate violation of the Supreme Court's directions. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court declined to restrain CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and his organisation from holding their planned October 16 protest at Connaught Place. The court also recorded Delhi Police's assurance that appropriate legal measures would be taken to regulate the gathering. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has announced the 'Lehra Do Tiranga' campaign at Connaught Place on October 16. Ahead of the protest, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has announced that Central Park, Connaught Place, will remain closed to the general public on October 16 and 17 due to administrative reasons. Will Abhijeet Dipke face detention before the protest? Could there be fresh security restrictions around Connaught Place? Will Delhi Metro services or mobile internet access face further restrictions? What does the government's unconditional apology mean for the ongoing Supreme Court contempt proceedings? Watch this exclusive report covering the Supreme Court developments, Delhi High Court proceedings, CJP protests and the latest situation in the national capital.
