A 12 years late fan-reanimated version of the classic Minecraft parody that’s centered around the question that everyone asks upon the start of a new 2 week Minecraft phase… uhh… how do I craft this again? Original Parody by @yogscast Original Song - [When can I see you again?] by @owlcity Vocals by @martyn Music by @area11band Inspired by the original animation made by @ciaranimator and the 3D remake by @maker2661 With extra background characters designed by my friends listed at the “Extras” section of the credits. The .fla files for this animation will be made public soon along with a behind the scenes video. Follow me on Twitter! https://x.com/BendoritosPC . I love the original animation to death, it’s super nostalgic for me and I’ve listened to it a fuck ton of times. When I started messing with Adobe Animate earlier this year, I figured I needed some kind of project that was both ambitious and relatively simple to complete, so… why not make a reanimated version of this music video? It has a simple animation style that’s easy enough to recreate, but still complicated enough that I could practice my animation skills while working on it, plus I already had plenty of ideas of how I would make my own version of it. I learned a lot while making this video, which I think is quite noticeable when you look at the shots from the beginning of the animation and compare them to the final ones, by the end I was using the tools of the program a lot more efficiently and my drawings got considerably more consistent, to the point I started going back to the early shots and polishing the rougher assets I drew for them, tho I did lose the complete .fla file for the first scene outside of the very first shot, which I actually managed to touch up a bit, thankfully it’s not all that noticeable, but look at the rig from the first shot and compare it to the rest of the scene and you’ll see how much cleaner it looks. Now, why did I use me and my friend’s OCs instead of Martyn and the other members of the Yogscast? Well… tbh, I’m just not really a super fan of the Yogscast outside of the music videos, I didn’t speak English as a kid, so the animations by Ciaran Askew were the only thing I could actually consume and enjoy from the channel, I don’t know the history of the network very well, so despite my immense respect for them and their fanbase, I just didn’t think it’d be all that fun or rewarding to work on a video dedicated to them. I also wanted this video to be sort of a celebration of… well, me, and to symbolize the beginning of a new phase in my channel and in my life as a whole. Now that I'm done with this projects, 6 months after starting it, I gotta say... even though it's very rough around the edges, and I didn't get to execute some shots quite as well as I had hoped, I'm still quite proud of what I was able to accomplish with this animation, and I hope you all enjoy it!
