Pakistan And Afghanistan Border | Maloomat Ki Dunya | Desert Village Life | Pak Afghan Border Visit Even after officials from Afghanistan and Pakistan sat down for talks, no breakthrough has been achieved. Watch this video to know more. History: The border between Pakistan and Afghanistan is called the Durand Line. It is a 2,640-kilometer (1,640-mile) frontier that separates the two countries. The Durand Line was established in 1893 by an agreement between Sir Mortimer Durand, a British diplomat, and Abdur Rahman Khan, the Amir of Afghanistan, during the British colonial period in the region. The border starts at the tripoint where Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran meet, near the western end of the Sulaiman Mountains in southwestern Pakistan. From there, it stretches eastward, following a generally northwest-southeast direction, until it reaches the tripoint where Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China meet in the northeast, near the Wakhan Corridor. The Durand Line has been a contentious issue between Pakistan and Afghanistan throughout history. Afghanistan does not formally recognize it as an international border and claims that it was imposed on them during the colonial era. As a result, there have been occasional border disputes and tensions between the two countries. The border region is characterized by rugged terrain, including mountains, valleys, and deserts. It is inhabited by various ethnic groups, including Pashtuns, Baloch, and others, who have historically had cross-border ties and cultural connections. The border region has also posed challenges in terms of security, as it has been used for illegal activities such as smuggling, drug trafficking, and movement of militants. Both Pakistan and Afghanistan have made efforts to improve border security and cooperation in recent years to address these issues. It's important to note that the situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border can be dynamic, and there may be ongoing developments that may not be reflected in this information, as my knowledge cutoff is September 2021. #afghanistannews #pakistannews #balochistanborder afghanistan pakistan pakistan afghanistan border afghanistan pakistan border taliban in afghanistan afghanistan pakistan border dispute pakistan afghanistan border crossing taliban afghanistan afghanistan-pakistan border afghanistan taliban taliban pakistan pakistan taliban afghanistan news pakistan news pakistan border afghanistan - pakistan border taliban warns pakistan afghanistan pakistan border fighting afghanistan pakistan border security
