🏎️ Why didn't Kimi Antonelli get a penalty at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix? Despite multiple track limit infringements at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, the Mercedes driver escaped a potential 5-second penalty after an incident at Turn 7. But what exactly happened, and how did Mercedes convince the FIA that there was a problem with his brakes? 🚨 On Lap 19, Lando Norris spotted Antonelli running wide at Turn 2 and warned McLaren over the team radio. Antonelli then went off track again on the following lap, receiving his second track limits warning. Later, on Lap 35, another wide moment earned him a third infringement and a black-and-white flag, meaning another track limits violation could normally result in a penalty. 😳 Everything escalated on Lap 40 during a Virtual Safety Car (VSC) restart. Antonelli accelerated before locking up heavily into Turn 7 and running off track. Over the radio, he complained that he had no brakes and that his brake pedal had gone extremely long. Mercedes race engineer Peter “Bono” Bonnington suggested the issue looked like heat soak, potentially affecting the car's braking performance. 🔥 Despite what appeared to be another track limits infringement, Antonelli ultimately avoided a penalty after Mercedes explained the brake issue to the FIA. Was it a justified decision, or should the stewards have applied the usual track limits rules? ✏️ About This Channel: I post shorts about Formula 1, but the videos are filled with memes!
