[Joe] One thing that I’m constantly struggling with is time. Even now as I type this, my mind is splintered into various veins of multitasking. Ending one moment, only to begin three other tasks can become life-draining. The audiobook devotions have been helpful when my mind has been overloaded and a way for the author’s voice to slow me down and speak introspectively with my eyes closed. The hellofresh meal plans have also been an innovative way to spend time with Alena and the family as a memorable activity. However, I still have those occasional days where I feel as though I’m drained and none of my responsibilities have been met for the day. It’s incredibly frustrating to feel as if the day is withering away and then with the same heart, toss those emotions onto Alena. I also know it can get worse if the frustration carries over to the next day, as it gives me even less time while playing catch up. To be honest, that is where I feel I am at right at this moment. I feel as though the devotional spoke to me, as I feel as though I have been busy plugging holes in a rusty bucket, rather than fixing the well. As a Christian, I fall for the shortsightedness of fixing what I can see and feel, instead of searching within my spirit and crosschecking my relationship with God. Instead of chasing to make time for accomplishments, I need to kneel where I’m at and lay down my burdens to the one who has been waiting for me to make time for Him. The One who runs the clock. Before I use the time I have each day, I need more time with Him. The One who grants me this time each new day.
