Her artistry combines classic songwriting traditions with a bold, independent spirit that reflects both retro elegance and present-day authenticity. Her latest project, the eponymous album Louise Gains & The Delta Kills, marks a defining new chapter. Produced by acclaimed songwriter-producer Dai Smith, the record draws inspiration from the golden era of British soul, echoing the timeless sophistication of Dusty Springfield alongside the raw emotional depth of Amy Winehouse. The lead single “Everything Hurts”, released through Hummdrumm Records, showcases this direction perfectly — a black-and-white visual and retro sonic palette that capture the spirit of classic 60s pop-soul through a modern lens. Producer Dai Smith brings a wealth of industry pedigree to the project, having written and produced songs leading to record and publishing deals with Sony S2, Sony/ATV Music and Warner Brothers, with placements across film, television and major live performances. His songs have been covered by artists including Toploader and Roachford and featured in projects such as The Bank Job, television series including One Tree Hill, and commercial campaigns. Louise first gained recognition in 2017 after featuring on MCX’s hip-hop album Aspex with the track “Can’t Kick the Habit,” which led to a headline performance warming up for drum and bass icon Andy C at the Blive Festival. Her earlier release XY Time received support from BBC Radio 1Xtra, where she was selected as DJ Target’s Artist of the Week. In 2020 she released her debut solo EP Learning to Dance, written and composed by Grammy-nominated Anders Hansson, followed by a string of collaborations including Whispers in the Wind (2021), Star of the Sky (2022) and Lisa Don’t You Cry (2023). Alongside her recording career, Louise has maintained a strong theatrical presence, performing the lead role of Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act at The Haymarket Theatre, earning a Best Actress nomination at the Curtain Call Awards. A passionate live performer, Louise has toured with UKQUEEN, appeared at the Legends Festival, and currently performs with the UK’s leading tribute act Never42, bringing her dynamic stage presence to theatres and festivals nationwide.
