Fishing Newcastle with my mate Ari and this was one of the better sessions we've had in a while — multiple locations, multiple rods, different lures and soft plastics, a couple of solid tailor, a massive stingray, and a fish that snapped us clean off. If you're into land based fishing, lure fishing, soft plastic fishing or Australian fishing vlogs in general, this one's worth the watch. We started the day fishing a few different spots around Newcastle, testing different rods and rigs to see what the tailor were responding to. Ari got things going with a small tailor early, which was a good sign the fish were around, and not long after I landed a much bigger tailor that put a solid bend in the rod. From there we kept moving between locations, running a mix of hard lures and soft plastics to figure out what was actually working on the day — some spots produced, others were quiet, which is pretty typical for tailor fishing when conditions change throughout a session. One of the wildest moments of the trip was spotting a genuinely massive stingray cruising through the shallows near where we were fishing — definitely gave us a moment of "let's not step there." Not long after that we watched a huge coal ship moving through in the background, which is such a classic Newcastle fishing backdrop and something you don't get fishing most other parts of the NSW coast. The trip wasn't without its heartbreak though — later in the session something seriously big hit the line and we got completely snapped off. No idea what it was, but based on the pull it was a lot bigger than anything else we hooked that day. That's fishing though — sometimes the biggest fish of the day is the one that gets away, and it's honestly part of what makes land based and lure fishing so addictive. This video covers real footage from start to finish — the wins, the changes in location, the gear we used, the stingray and coal ship sightings, and the fish that beat us. If you fish NSW, fish tailor on lures or soft plastics, or just enjoy watching honest Australian fishing trips without the fake hype, this is exactly the kind of content we're making more of. 🎣 What's in this video: - Fishing Newcastle with Ari - Small tailor and a big tailor caught on lures/soft plastics - Multiple rods and multiple locations tested in one session - Massive stingray sighting in the shallows - Big coal ship passing through Newcastle - Getting snapped off by a big unknown fish If you enjoyed this fishing trip, hit like and subscribe — more Newcastle and NSW fishing content, lure and soft plastic reviews, and honest fishing vlogs coming regularly. #fishing #tailorfishing #newcastlefishing #lurefishing #nswfishing That gives you a lot more natural surface area for keywords (tailor, lures, soft plastics, Newcastle, NSW, land based, stingray, coal ship) without it reading like a stuffed keyword list — YouTube's algorithm reads the full description for context, so the extra length actually helps here, not just the tags field.
